Introduction to Education: Global Citizenship Education

EDUCATION 203F

This course will critically explore both the theoretical foundations of and practices of Global Citizenship Education. It will include perspectives from academics, practitioners, and students from around the world. Course topics will include the UN Sustainable Development Goals, the impacts of globalization on education, various forms of international education, and pedagogies associated with civic engagement. Students will have opportunities to explore issues of global/local importance and to consider ways that primary/secondary schools can foster young global citizens.
